Live Dog Portraits at ALO for Chelsea Dog Day 2025

Earlier this month I was invited to take part in Chelsea Dog Day 2025. It’s a brilliant event that celebrates all things dogs, and this was it’s 4th year of celebrations. It also raises money for a nominated charity each year. This year it was Pets As Therapy, a community of pet owners and amazing pets brightening days and bringing joy to people in hospitals, care homes, schools and more.

The events are held in the Kings Road area in London, and lots of local businesses get involved. There is a pop up market in Duke of York Square, pet photoshoots, free puppachinos, dog treats, dog grooming, tarot card readind and more.

This year I was excited to see that there were lots of artists and illustrators creating live dog portraits in collaboration with different brands.

I was invited to create live dog portraits at ALO Yoga on Kings Road. On a first come first served basis, customers could bring their pups in store for a free 10 minute portrait painted by me from a quick reference photo.

It was incredibly popular and the spaces ran out super fast!

Below are some of the portraits I created on the day.

Other artists creating paw-traits on the day included Sarah Smart, Doggy Doodles, Dogs By Jeff, Graeme Ross, and Alison Louise Russell.

Sarah Smart Draws was at eyewear brand Oliver Peoples, painting super cute pup portraits onto branded tote bags and pouches.

Doggy Doodles Hannah created her super cute portraits at the Cadogan Arms on Kings Road as part of Chelsea Dog Day. All proceeds went towards Pets As Therapy, the official charity partner.

Dogs By Jeff painted his brilliant inky dog portraits at Comptoir Libanais, with free treats also available to visitors.

And the super talented Alison Louise Russell created live paper silhouettes of your pup using just a pair of scissors and paper, at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower.

Graeme Ross was creating his fun black and white pooch portraits at Jeroboam's.
